- There have been a total of 30 Summer Olympic Games and 24 Winter Olympic Games. This brings the overall total to 54 Olympic Games held since the modern Olympics began in 1896.
- In 2026, Italy will be hosting the Winter Olympics and in 2028 Los Angeles will be hosting the Summer Olympics
