There have been many inventions that may help fatal wounds, but none of them have ever sealed them or stopped bleeding instantly. However, recently there has been a new spray-on powder called AGCL powder or silver chloride powder.

Where Was It Made?

Scientists in South Korea have created this spray-on powder that is able to seal the wounds in only ONE SECOND! The researchers at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) state that the powder can help close wounds and stop bleeding for people who are unexpectedly injured, as well as patients in hospitals.

How Does It Work?

The powder interacts with the chemicals in blood, transforming it into a gel that quickly creates a barrier over the wound to stop the bleeding. It’s especially useful in situations like car accidents or combat injuries, where people can lose large amounts of blood quickly. Instead of relying only on blood transfusions, this allows bleeding to be stopped before too much blood is lost.

Five Fun Facts!

  1. Works in Extreme Conditions: It hardens instantly even in high-humidity or high-temperature environments, making it ideal for battlefield or disaster zones where traditional dressings fail.
  2. High Blood Absorption: The gel can absorb more than seven times its own weight in blood (up to 725% moisture content) while remaining stable.
  3. Versatile Application: Unlike flat patch-type hemostats, AGCL powder can be applied to deep, large, and irregular wounds of any shape, making it flexible for various injury types.
  4. Military-Ready Design: An active-duty Army Major was part of the research team, ensuring the product’s practicality in real combat conditions.
  5. Fast Deployment: Requires minimal precision; just spray and it works.
