The researchers at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) state that the powder can help close wounds and stop bleeding for people who are unexpectedly injured, as well as patients in hospitals.

The powder interacts with the chemicals in blood, transforming it into a gel that quickly creates a barrier over the wound to stop the bleeding. It’s especially useful in situations like car accidents or combat injuries, where people can lose large amounts of blood quickly. Instead of relying only on blood transfusions, this allows bleeding to be stopped before too much blood is lost.
